Microwave Radio Safety
Microwave radio transmissions and links are generated from fixed antennas mounted at high levels over paths clear of physical obstructions.
The signal is a narrow beam of energy between two dishes separated by distances, typically from between 1 and 50 kilometres. Unlike mobile telephony, Wireless LAN's or media broadcast, where the transmission is beamed in all directions within a cell, microwave radio is a single uni-directional beam, usually delivered high above the ground to avoid obstructions. There is virtually no energy outside the beam. But importantly, the power generally emanating from this equipment is only 50 milliwatts, approximately a thousandth of the energy of a light bulb, and 200 times lower than the energy from a mobile telephone base station.
While radio waves can affect the human body, if exposure is sufficiently high, such intensities simply cannot be experienced from the equipment used by MLL Telecom.
MLL Telecom adheres to all current World Health Organisation safety recommendations and ISO guidelines. We pay close attention to current scientific studies to ensure we act with the highest regard to safety at all times.
